Ethos and Belief when Conducting

shaun-humphries-teaching-conductingShaun is active as a musical director and is in demand as a guest conductor, He has worked with a variety of  brass bands, wind ensembles and choirs.  Shaun has collaborated with several composers and has performed with notable soloists including the late Sir John Dankworth, Cleo Laine and Paul Fisher. He has been very privileged to work with some of the most highly-regarded teachers in Britain today, including Michael Rose.

Shaun has a clear ethos and acute awareness of how to help the musicians he directs achieve the very best that they can. He believe that creating a non-threatening environment with clear expectations can help people to realise their potential.

Shaun enjoys engaging with people and directions given are non-judgemental, non-personal and enables a greater understanding of the musical context and awareness of the music being performed.


Shaun is an experienced conductor musical director. He has worked as a musical director for a number of Brass Bands, brass ensembles, wind ensembles, jazz bands, stage shows and choirs.
